IRVING, TEXAS – September 8, 2005
– DynCorp International has named Jeffrey E. Scheferman Senior
Vice-President for Operations and Edward Phelan Senior Vice-President
for Strategic Business Development. The two men will be responsible for
managing and developing the company’s growing business with non-U.S.
government customers.
Mr. Scheferman most recently was
president and CEO of Colliers Sealy International of Los Angeles, one
of Southern California’s largest full-service commercial real estate
firms. From 1997-2000, he was with Airport Group International, serving
as regional director for Latin America and managing director of Airport
Group Australia. From 1995-1997, he was director of international
business development for HK Systems of Hebron, Kentucky, a
material-handling-systems integration company.
Mr. Scheferman
had a 26-year career with the United States Marine Corps, retiring with
the rank of colonel. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from
Ripon College in Wisconsin and a master’s degree in public
administration from Capitol University in Columbus, Ohio.
Edward
Phelan has been with DynCorp International since 2001, and is currently
Vice-President for Commercial Operations. Before joining the company,
he served for ten years with the United Nations. In his last assignment
with the U.N., he had global responsibility for directing the
administrative, logistics, communications, and information-technology
services for all U.N. organizations. During this period he played key
roles in peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, Cambodia, and the former
Yugoslavia.
Before joining the U.N., Mr. Phelan served in the
United States Army, retiring with the rank of colonel. He holds a
master’s degree in logistics management science from the Florida
Institute of Technology, an M.B.A. Executive Seminars Program degree
from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, and a bachelor’s degree in
biological sciences and chemistry from North Dakota State University.
