DynCorp International Security Supervisor Killed in Baghdad
FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Feb. 19, 2007
Glen
Joyce, 40, of Helderkruin, Roodepoort, South Africa, was killed
February 15th in Iraq in a mortar attack. One other DynCorp
International employee and four Iraqis were injured in the same attack,
which occurred in Baghdad at approximately 6:30 a.m. local time.
As
a security supervisor, Mr. Joyce provided security for
administrative-support personnel for DynCorp International's contingent
assigned to the Civilian Police Advisory Training Team, the component
of the U.S. military Multinational Security Transition Command - Iraq
responsible for the U.S.-led effort to train and equip the
135,000-member Iraqi police service. DynCorp International is
responsible for recruiting, training, equipping, and supporting the
700-member U.S. contingent of trainers through a contract with the U.S.
Department of State.
Mr. Joyce had worked with DynCorp
International as a security supervisor since October 2004. Previously,
Mr. Joyce spent eight years with the South African Defense Force.

his time in Iraq, he safeguarded hundreds of people who are dedicated
to establishing a professional police force for the Iraqi people. My
