DynCorp International Committed To Veteran-Owned Businesses

FALLS CHURCH, Va.—June 9, 2008—DynCorp International (NYSE: DCP) has been recognized for the second year in a row by Vetrepreneur magazine as one of the United States’ 10 best corporations for veteran-owned businesses. Vetrepreneur is the official magazine of the National Veteran-Owned Business Association. The listing recognizes both efforts and results by companies in doing business with veteran-owned suppliers and contractors.

Vetrepreneur magazine’s June cover story notes that “DynCorp International has significantly invested in its marketing to find more potential veteran-owned business suppliers … and was a sponsor of the 11th Annual Government Procurement Conference in August 2007, paying the way for 100 veteran-owned small businesses to attend without paying a fee.” In praising DynCorp International’s efforts, Vetrepreneur singled out DynCorp International employee Debbie Newberry and the DynCorp small-business office she manages. This office assists veteran-owned businesses and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses in developing longstanding relationships with DynCorp through outreach events and exposure to company personnel involved in business development and procurement. 

DynCorp International is also sponsoring the Veteran-Owned Business Accountability Summit being held June 12, 2008 in Washington, DC. This event is a landmark public-private effort by two of the chief advocate organizations for veterans in business, and through its sponsorship DynCorp is affirming its corporate belief in the value of using veteran suppliers, who can bring specific skills, knowledge and experience to its work.
