Case Study

Asset and Facilities Management Across a Region

Babcock DynCorp Ltd, a populated joint venture with Babcock, has been successfully delivering the UK MOD’s Regional Prime Contract East since 2005.

The company was created to bring together and apply best practice in defence facilities management learnt from the U.S. and UK markets for the past 50 years.

This contract is improving the condition of the MOD estate in the East of England through the provision of planned and reactive maintenance, statutory inspections, budgeting and programming.

Successfully managing 46 sites and some 4,000 assets would not be possible without the team’s robust procurement processes, reliable procedures and sound supply chain, developed through many years of experience and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Our commitment to making year-on-year improvements has led to the creation of a more efficient and reliable service. In addition, the provision of a 24-hour, 365 days a year, helpdesk has also contributed to end user buy-in as it supports two-way communication between provider and user.

The team has made a strong investment in the contract, committing more than 800 full time team members to the project and working from dedicated offices at RAF Brampton, creating robust working relationships and communication with end users. Completed capital works have included the renovation of taxiways at RAF Waddington and of aircraft hangers at RAF North Luffenham.

The success of this contract has been based on the shared values of Babcock DynCorp Ltd and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation. We have developed an in-depth understanding of MOD requirements and applied this knowledge to the delivery of high quality, value for money services.
