Jim Cassella serves as Chief Growth Officer for DynCorp International (DI), responsible for business development, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy. DI is a global solutions provider, supporting government, military, and commercial clients with a wide variety of services including aviation operations and maintenance, ground vehicle sustainment, logistics and supply chain management, intelligence and training, base support operations, facilities maintenance, and information technology.
Mr. Cassella joined DI in 2013, subsequently serving in a wide variety of executive leadership positions including Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development, SVP of Business Development for the DynAviation operating segment, and VP of Corporate Capture Management and Proposal Development.
Prior to joining DynCorp, Mr. Cassella was employed by DRS Technologies as a Vice President in a variety of areas, including Line of Business Leader, Customer Operations, and Business Development. In these roles, he was responsible for providing state-of-the-art sensor and targeting systems to warfighters at the height of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Prior to joining DRS, Mr. Cassella was an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, the strategy, technology, and management consulting firm, where he served as lead for Joint and Army Programs for the Strategic Communications business.
A career military officer, Mr. Cassella served in assignments at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels in multinational, interagency, and joint operations, including two assignments at the Pentagon where he served as Defense Department spokesman and advisor to the Secretary of Defense, Chief of Staff of the Army, and other top Defense and Service officials.
A Distinguished Military Graduate of The Citadel, Mr. Cassella received a Regular Army commission in Aviation upon graduation with a B.A. in History. A Senior Army Aviator, he holds a Master of Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and was an honor graduate of the Defense Information School’s Public Affairs Officers Course.
