DynCorp International vice president of special operations and intelligence strategy, David Morris, was a featured speaker at the 2012 Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) Special Operations Summit, held December 3-6, 2012, at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina in Tampa, Fla.

Morris discussed, “Capabilities Integration in Complex Contingency Operations from a Special Operations Force Perspective.”

IDGA Special Operations Summit

IDGA’s Special Operations Summit provides an end-of-the-year update and briefing on the progress of U.S. Special Operations over the past year. It serves as a forum for the discussion on effective practices and policies needed to ensure special operators are fully capable and equipped to accomplish the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) mission. This year’s main focus was building and enabling a globalized Special Operations community.

Agenda topics will:

  • Address key issues specific to interagency cooperation and establishing a global Special Operations Force network
  • Discuss current and future requirements and top priorities of USSOCOM
  • Identify new technologies and applications for SOF operators
  • Examine the newest advancements and acquisition priorities in special operations technology given the constantly-evolving environment and priorities

Attendees included military personnel, civilian government personnel and members of the private sector.
