IRVING, TX (October 24, 2005) – DynCorpInternational is joining forces MD Helicopters and two othercompanies to compete for a contract to produce light utilityhelicopters for the U.S. Army.
MD Helicopters proposed on October 20 to provide its MD Explorer®to the Army’s light utility helicopter program. The federalgovernment seeks to buy more than 300 helicopters to supply the$1.3 billion program.
Under the teaming arrangement, DI will provide contract fieldteams and management and field- service maintenance personnel tothe Army.
The other members of the team are GENCO Infrastructure Solutionsand Aviation Systems of Northwest Florida, highly regardedcompanies with extensive experience with the Army and the U.S.Department of Defense.
Pittsburgh, Pa.-based GENCO, a supply-chain management servicescompany, serves a wide range of government, retail, andmanufacturing customers. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, GIS, willprovide supply-chain management services for the proposed lightutility helicopter program.
Aviation Systems of Northwest Florida, based in Pensacola,designs, builds, and maintains complex aircraft training systems.It will supply the program’s training devices.
