MCLEAN, VA. – (September 23, 2016) – The U.S. Army Sustainment Command awarded DynCorp International (DI) an 11-month task order contract modification that began August 1 to continue providing base life support and maintenance services in Afghanistan under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) IV contract. The modification is valued at $111 million. Immediately following this extension, several more contract modifications were awarded due to DI’s outstanding performance across Afghanistan. These additional modifications, to begin October 1, add over 100 new services requiring more than 900 additional personnel at four locations and is valued at approximately $50 million annually.
“This second extension and additional contract modifications demonstrate our customer’s confidence in DI’s ability to deliver unequaled support services to U.S. forces in Afghanistan,” said Contingency Operations Vice President Rob Tillery, LOGCAP IV program manager. “The LOGCAP team is proud of our exceptional work on this critical program.”
Under this task order, DI provides critical operations and maintenance support, including but not limited to facilities management, electrical power, water, sewage and waste management, HAZMAT, laundry operations, billeting, material handling equipment operations and maintenance, firefighting services, transportation motor pool operations, food service operations, Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR), airfield operations and container yard management and movement control operations.
“It is a privilege and a welcomed challenge to support our military and allied forces’ mission in this austere environment,” said Robert Caviness, project manager in Afghanistan. “Focusing on the warfighters’ needs and delivering exceptional service has earned DI’s LOGCAP team an outstanding reputation, and the team looks forward to continuing our efforts.”
This cost-plus fixed-fee task order was originally awarded in July 2009 with one base year and four one-year options, with a current total value of $5.9 billion.
The LOGCAP IV contract is the Army component of the Department of Defense’s efforts to award contracts with U.S. companies to a broad range of logistics and support to U.S. and allied forces during combat, peacekeeping, humanitarian, and training operations. The contract vehicle, established in June 2007, has a total term of up to ten years.
