McLean, VA – (November 19, 2019) – On September 5, the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, awarded DynCorp International (DI) a modification to a previously awarded, firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. The modification is valued at $88.7 million and work is expected to be completed in March 2020.
Work on this contract provides organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance and logistics support for T-34 Mentors, T-44 Pegasus and T-6 Texan aircraft. Support will be performed at naval air stations in Corpus Christi, Texas; Milton and Pensacola, Florida; and other locations across the United States.
“We are very happy to see our teams recognized for their sustained superior support on these aircraft and are honored to continue this important work,” said Joe Ford, president of DynAviation.
The Mentor, Pegasus and Texan are light turboprop planes used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps for basic flight training. Their simple design and relatively forgiving flight characteristics allow pilots to learn fundamentals before advancing to more sophisticated aircraft.
