McLean, Va. – (December 4, 2019) – The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) recognized DynCorp International (DI) with the 2019 Materiel Readiness Award at the Joseph P. Cribbins 47th Annual Aviation Product Support Symposium in Huntsville, Alabama on November 20.
The Materiel Readiness Award for a Contribution by a Major Contractor recognizes the major defense contractor that has made an outstanding contribution to the materiel readiness and logistic support of U.S. Army Aviation.
“We are exceptionally humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award from AAAA,” said Joe Ford, president of DynAviation. “Our dedicated worldwide teams focus each and every day to help ensure the U.S. Army can meet their demanding aviation missions.”
This is the second time that DI has achieved this award in the last three years.
DI supports Army Aviation rotary wing and fixed wing fleets worldwide. Working together with soldiers, often in remote, austere and/or hostile environments, more than 1,500 dedicated DI professionals – 62% of whom are veterans – have effectively and efficiently supported approximately 70% of the Army’s operational helicopter fleet, and 100% of the Army’s Fixed Wing Transport fleet during the past year.
The Army Aviation maintenance professionals of DynCorp International are uniquely focused on one task – ensuring the readiness of Army Aviation. This commitment, combined with a veteran-based workforce, who are willing to deploy globally alongside Army Aviation units, is what sets DI apart.
AAAA was formed in early 1957 by a small group of senior aviation officers in the active Army, the Reserve Forces of the U.S. Army and industry. The mission of AAAA is to support the United States Army Aviation soldier and family.
