Saturday, November 6, 2010 – DI Toys for Tots Convoy and Rally
(October 18, 2010) Members of the DI family are making a difference, supporting our customers at work and in the community. The year before last, LOGCAP IV’s Pascal Budge organized a DI toy collection in support of the local Marine Corps recruiting center’s Toys for Tots drive and he’s spearheading the effort again this year.
“We collected toys for several weeks and on delivery day we formed a convoy of motorcycles and cars to escort a trailer of toys to the Marine Corps recruiting office on Denton Highway. Afterwards, we had lunch together. It was a great day and a wonderful way to show we care,” Pascal said.
This year, delivery day is November 6 and everyone is invited to participate – employees, families and friends. There will be toy collection boxes in the lobby of 13500. Drop off a toy in advance or bring one the morning of November 6. The DI convoy will gather in the 13500 parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and depart at 10:00 a.m. We will deliver the toys, have lunch after we deliver the toys and head for home around 1:30 p.m.
Spence Wickham, LOGCAP IV Program Director says, “We support the Marines in Southern Afghanistan and this is a way to support them here at home. Together we can make the holiday season in this tough economy a little brighter for a lot of kids.”
